This Research Preparation Degree has been designed for students who already have a fairly precise idea of the topic in which they intend to pursue doctoral research. The programme allows students to spend a year working with their prospective doctoral supervisor in order to attain the optimum level of preparation for doctoral research by concentrating on a tailor-made set of research skills. The curriculum will be agreed individually by the student and his/her supervisor after an initial assessment of the student's needs and plans. The curriculum can include (amongst other things) instruction in ancient and modern languages, palaeography, quantitative analysis, IT skills, source criticism, Directed Reading etc. | ||
